Root Cause Workshop Series: Why your hamstrings are tight (Hint: It may not be your hamstrings after all)

  • Orlando Movement Practice (inside CrossFit Winter Park) 125 West Fairbanks Avenue Winter Park, FL, 32789 United States (map)

If you can’t touch your toes first thing in the morning, it may not be your hamstrings that are actually holding you back…

Maybe you’re dealing with back pain, have “never been flexible,” or have been stretching for years and your hamstrings are still tight

9 times out of 10 when someone can’t touch their toes, it has next to nothing to do with actual hamstring stiffness

The hamstrings are usually becoming tight in an effort to compensate for something else that is not in good working order.

In this workshop, you’ll learn how I can get someone to touch their toes sometimes in as little as 10 minutes, even when they haven’t been able to do that in over 10 YEARS!

Hamstring stiffness is common, but NOT normal…

  • You should be able to put your hands on the floor, COLD…right out of bed, first thing in the morning

  • If you can’t, you are leaving power and injury protection on the table for movements like the squat, lunge, and deadlift or picking something up off the floor in daily life

  • Hamstring stiffness and the lack of ability to squat deep are some of the biggest predictors of injury in runners

  • This ability (or lack thereof) can be the difference between chronic back pain and freedom, between not worrying about picking your kids up and blowing your back out by picking up a napkin, between low back protection and susceptibility to disc herniations and more…

The reality is that while the hamstrings might be the SITE of your stiffness or limitation, they are rarely the SOURCE.

This workshop will help eliminate confusion, connect the dots, and set you on the path to more freedom of movement

In this workshop, you’ll learn:

  • A simple framework for figuring out the root cause of hamstring stiffness and low back pain while gaining an understanding as to why pain, stiffness, and injury occur

  • Why the mantra, “I’ve never been flexible,” is no longer an excuse and this body-type just lacks the right process

  • Why hamstring stiffness may not be related to your hamstrings actually being tight at all

  • Why it’s not a great a idea to be squatting or deadlifting heavy if you can’t do this fundamental movement

PLUS…

See the simple framework in action with a live movement screen demonstration AND learn 3 simple, but powerful exercises you probably aren’t doing to radically improve your flexibility AND strength TODAY

If you or someone you know is being held back because of hamstring stiffness and/or low back pain, you won’t want to miss this workshop!
