ORLANDO MOVEMENT PRACTICE HELPS…

ATHLETES

Although your sport of choice may differ, the frustration and worry caused by limited mobility, injury, and pain are the same.

From team sports like baseball, crew, volleyball, basketball and football to more individual sports like waterski, CrossFit, Olympic weightlifting and running.

As an athlete myself, I understand and am committed to getting you back to peak performance or helping you realize untapped potential as soon as possible.

Using cutting-edge physical therapy and movement training alongside a holistic, individualized and whole-body approach, I work towards equipping you with the tools necessary to build a strong, athletic, and durable body for the long-haul

ACTIVE ADULTS

You may not necessarily identify with being an athlete per se, but you are definitely active! ...or at least you were active before mobility limitations, pain or injury slowed you down.

Whether it’s gardening in your yard, keeping up with your kids or grandkids, going to the gym, participating in your next race or enjoying a round of golf on the weekend, you deserve to do them pain-free.

You were designed to move well and do it often. I want to help you feel more than capable and fully enjoy the activities that bring you life.

THOSE SEEKING AN ACTIVE LIFESTYLE

OK, so you’re not an athlete and you’re not active right now, but you want to be…

Maybe you’re unsure where to start…

Maybe you’ve been in pain for so long that you need someone to guide you back to health and show you that an active life is possible…

Maybe you just want to keep up with your kids or grandkids…

I can help!

Meet Dr. Brandon Keilman PT, DPT

Dr. Brandon Keilman, Doctor of Physical therapy and Movement Specialist.

OMP Founder | Physical Therapist | Movement Specialist

A quick intro about me...I’m originally an Indiana native, but have lived in or around the Orlando and Winter Park areas since 1993. I graduated from Lake Mary High School and received both my undergraduate and doctoral degrees from the University of Central Florida. GO KNIGHTS! I met my amazing wife, Whitney through Summit Church in Orlando and we love our adventurous little boy Caleb.

Here’s the thing...I did not know I wanted to be a physical therapist from a young age (truthfully, I was in youth ministry for the first several years after undergrad at UCF), but I was always someone who enjoyed physicality. As an athlete and someone who lifted weights religiously since I was 14 years old, I loved pushing my boundaries, but had my fair share of injuries along the way that led me to chronic ankle instability, severe back pain with a numb right foot, shoulder impingement, hip impingement and more.

I know what it’s like to be frustrated by these things to say the least. I also know what it’s like to experience what feels like miraculous change and restoration. I can do things now that I couldn’t when I was an 18 year old athlete with a 32 inch vertical, and there’s more to come that I know I’ll achieve because of the process I apply to myself and my clients/students.

If you are frustrated by pain, injury, stiffness or a plateau in your athleticism, here’s some GREAT NEWS...we have the tools to HEAL OURSELVES and fully realize our potential built right into our God-given design as humans. All we need to do is to cultivate the right environment for that healing to take place and our capacity to do amazing things to be unlocked.

Because of my own journey I know the human body not only has an amazing healing ability, but also the capacity to do some really cool stuff, no matter what our starting point. My career is now built upon teaching others to take ownership and harness the power within themselves to be restored and become resilient.

My specialty in physical therapy and movement is in getting to the root cause of pain, injury, stiffness or untapped potential, helping to cultivate that healing environment and equipping you with the tools to give your body the reset it needs to do the amazing things for which you were designed. So, if you come see me, BE READY TO MOVE THE VERY FIRST DAY.

We are told too often by medical practitioners of our limitations and the things we can’t do. I lost count how many times a runner or CrossFitter was told to stop doing those things just because they hurt and the practitioner couldn’t figure out how to help them. I’m on a mission to change that by empowering people to stay active through the deliberate and focused practice of movement.

You are here because you want something different…and you’ve found it.

This is the exact reason I started the Orlando Movement Practice. I aim to create a place where clients and athletes can feel better, get stronger, and DO MORE! Want to gain an edge on your competition? I can help you do that. Want to lift some weight or run a Spartan Beast? I can help you do both. Want to play with your kids or grandkids without being held back? I can help you do that too.

My goal for you is to be totally free of limits on what you can do. I NEVER want you to hear you say “I can’t.”

Yes, you can. And I will help you do it. I’ve helped athletes and active adults from all levels and many different sports, from recreational to olympic caliber, from olympic weightlifters and CrossFitters to runners to pro waterskiers to nationally competitive high school baseball players.

The fruitless and endless cycle of of unnecessary injections, medications and risky surgeries is over!

Welcome to the Orlando Movement Practice! Get ready to MOVE!

The Fundamental Capacity Screen (FCS) helps identify where an athlete or someone with a competitive active lifestyle may be leaking power so they can unlock their true potential.
Pose Method is THE standard for proper running technique. Learn how to run with ease so you can feel light on your feet and knees.

The Orlando Movement Practice Difference

I believe in you.

If you feel broken and hopeless right now, the good news is you’re not as broken as you might think...

While our current medical system is set on telling us that we can only be fixed by pills, shots or surgery, I’m here to show you another way. I believe that with the right process including proper medical care, a deliberate movement practice and lifestyle change anyone can eliminate pain & stiffness, avoid preventable injuries and improve performance. In developing these things, you are empowered to reach your true potential and live your life without limits.

Our bodies have the amazing ability to heal itself, to adapt, survive and thrive in any environment. We just need to get out of our own way. The path to reaching our true potential is not through cookie-cutter approaches and outdated methods, such as ice packs, therabands, and stationary bikes. This one-dimensional strategy is prevalent in traditional, third-party-pay physical therapy practices, but you’ll soon see OMP’s approach is a refreshing change in strategy!

Orlando Movement Practice is a private-pay (cash-based) rehab and performance center. Before you go price shopping against the in-the-box places, let’s shed some light on what cash-based physical therapy and movement-training is and how this method will likely save you time, money and resources, and avoid frustration while also helping you achieve your desired results. Watch how this unfolds in the majority of cases...

Break it Down:

Cash-Based Model Defined

Orlando Movement Practice chooses (emphasis on this being an intentional decision) a cash-based model for our practice. In a cash-based treatment model, I enter into an agreement with you to provide physical therapy or performance-based services in a manner that both parties have decided upon (AKA: FULL TRANSPARENCY with no surprise bills 3 months in) to help you reach your goals most efficiently.

You will pay at the time of service. This model allows me to focus on providing direct, one-on-one care, while keeping admin costs low. You may pay for services using actual cash, a check, a credit/debit card, or with your HSA/FSA.

In some instances, you may also personally file for reimbursement from your insurance company to curb your out-of-pocket expense. OMP is happy to provide what is called a “superbill” with the appropriate charges and codes to file a self-claim. Most insurance companies, with the exception of Medicare, Medicaid and some HMOs, will provide reimbursement for services received “out of network.”

Cash-based does NOT mean I am short on the education, qualifications and accreditations necessary to provide you with best-in-class medical care.

I have a unique background in strength, conditioning, and human performance to go well beyond rehab and help you live your strongest, happiest, healthiest life.

Why Cash Based?

Benefits by the Numbers

I am not big on limitations – neither are you, which is why you’re here. In my 20+ years of collective experience between the strength/fitness and rehab worlds, third-party payers pressuring for immediate diagnoses, insisting on confining treatments, and interfering with the therapy I want to provide often hurts your progress and hinders my ability to reach your goals. I know this intimately because I worked for one of the large organizations for 7 years total, almost 2 years as a PT until I got burnt out seeing 20+ patients a day.

Furthermore...wait for it...out-of-pocket expenses over the course of physical therapy will often be less expensive for patients like you with a cash-based model than through a traditional physical therapy practice.

SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK!!!

Let’s compare the same path to recovery for two 35-year-old men recovering from a torn rotator cuff. Jim chooses to go the private-pay route with Orlando Movement Practice, while Michael sticks with the traditional third-party reimbursement track.

Before we dive into the breakdown, we will assume one crucial thing: both Jim Halpert and Michael Scott have met their annual deductible and have chosen conservative over surgery (which has better long-term outcomes according to the latest peer-reviewed research) so Michael qualifies for reimbursement from his insurance, which typically looks like 20% out-of-pocket or $30 co-pays per session.

If we take the “standard” protocol in a insurance-based model for a torn rotator cuff in a healthy individual (25-35), the patient will typically need 4-6 months of rehab requiring passive and active PT (averaging 2x per week, which would equate to 32-48 visits) according to the US National Library of Medicine. In the private-pay model I typically see someone 1x each week or so and give them an extensive home program so he or she can begin working on this stuff at home. I also see my patient on average 6-10x during the plan of care and quickly go from rehabilitation to working on performance and prevention.

Meet Jim and Michael

Cash PT is often a more cost-effective and time-efficient than Traditional PT
Cash PT more cost-effective and time-efficient first 30 days
Cash PT is better than Traditional PT for the long-haul

At the end of 6-months, Jim has spent $160 more ($1120 for 8 sessions vs. $960 for 32 sessions) out of pocket than his buddy Michael. Although both men were recovering from similar injuries, Jim invests less than a third of the time (6-10 vs. 32-48 hours, not including travel time) for a more full recovery that got him back to the lifestyle he loved sooner. This outcome also doesn’t account for the intangibles around enjoying a dynamic, individualized care plan and relationship built with his OMP PT.

Furthermore, had Michael NOT met his deductible, this care path through traditional PT would have cost him up to $2,240 ($101 for the initial evaluation + 31 sessions at $69/ea) out of pocket, which would have him spending DOUBLE ($1120 more) in less-effective care than if he had gone through OMP.
